Just a girl trying to turn travel into a way of life.
In my third year of university, I went on exchange to the Netherlands.
Over six months, I travelled across 17 countries. I took my first solo trip, tried Couchsurfing and stayed in the homes of complete strangers. And for the first time, I realised—
the world is so much bigger than I thought, and there are so many different ways to live a life.
When I returned to Hong Kong, I didn’t want to keep all those stories to myself.
So I started Traveljilleo from scratch, documenting my adventures through my lens. Within three months, the community grew from 0 to 10,000 followers. I also started my video series, “100 Peaks of Hong Kong”, hoping to inspire more people to discover the wild and beautiful side of my home.
When I graduated at 22, I didn’t rush into the life I was “supposed” to live.
Instead, I picked up my backpack and set out to see if I could make a life out of travelling.
I’ve always been drawn to the wilder, more adventurous side of travel. Rather than simply ticking places off a bucket list, I love immersing myself in a place, stepping into the lives of people I meet, and listening to their stories.
Because to me, travel has never been about how many places I’ve been to.
It’s about how the world keeps making me braver, freer, fuller, and more open to everything life can be.
Today, I’m still figuring out how to truly make a living through travel, while building my own little ecosystem that will allow me to keep exploring the world sustainably.
I’m also one of the founders of HK Adventure Club — SIDEQUEST, where we create journeys that are a little different. I hope that when people return home, they bring back more than just photos—they bring home something that stays with them.
The world is huge.
Let’s make it our own story. 🌍
