About Me

Hi! I'm Zahraa and I am an autistic advocate, law student aspiring to be a lawyer!

I was diagnosed with autism when I was four years old and took me eight years to find out I was autistic.

Before I knew I was autistic, I would always write stories that floated around my head - mostly romance stories hence I am about to publish my book Writing About Timeless Butterflies! I wrote five stories before this and two of them were printed in the school.

I also loved acting and reading stories. My favourites include The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Dancing the Dream by Michael Jackson and Moonwalk by Michael Jackson.

After I found out I was autistic, I decided to advocate for autism, neurodiversity and disability by creating PowerPoint slides educating people about what autism is and turning it into a club called Thriving Neurodivergents. This also meant that I started writing this particular book after I was fed up of constantly being misrepresented in the media and society and having my voice taken away.

After doing advocacy on Instagram, I realised how whitewashed the autism community is and therefore wanted to share my voice to amplify the underprivileged autistic people and call out aspie supremacists (autistic people who discriminate other autistic people).

I am incredibly passionate about this that I have created a second page on Instagram called Don't Be An ASS (Aspie Supremacist Sinner) where I educate people about aspie supremacy as well as how to become good autism advocates for the underprivileged and the importance of intersectionality. I also call out on misinformation and ableism being spread around.

I have done a talk on aspie supremacy which is available to watch on Instagram and it was well-received by my jellyfishes (my term for followers)!

So far, I have done 2 podcasts with these amazing people and I really want you to check them out!

I am currently in the process of having my book published whilst aiming to educate the world about autism, neurodiversity and disability through my lens. Alongside this, I am currently studying law and trying to do more talks on aspie supremacy and get onto more podcasts to have others listen to me and other marginalised voices!

Thank you for taking your time to read!
